Animal charities and sussex vets have noticed that the Credit crunch is now taking it’s toll on our fluffy friends.

Animal charities are seeing a dramatic increase in the number of dogs and cats being borught into their shelters, with owners simply unable to afford them. During this time of economic crises, where buisnesses are collapsing and going under left, right and centre and making people redundant, our animal companions seem to be hit as well, as owners just can continue to cope with thier own bills of rent and then their pets food, veternary and insurance bills. Paying for hospical care such as animal cardiology is expensive and people just cannot afford it. Animals are either being dropped off at animal shelters or taken a distance away from the family home and dropped in the middle of no-where, left to fend for themselves.

So what has bought this situation about? Spare a thought for all those animals who were bought as xams presents0 more so this year. Families that could afford that new puppy suddenly cant due to redundancy, and rover’s looking at the chop. People are also forced to downgrade and move to smaller accomidations, which dont allow pets to the dismay of the owner.

Can animal hospitals cope with this sudden influx in vet referrals?

Alot of animal charities and re-homing centres are close to full, now unfortunetly only taking in the most severe of emergency cases. Animal shelters are recieving less donations to, with the credit crunch tightening people’s belt and charities all round getting less handouts as people struggle to save themselves.

There is a bright spot on the end of this tail (pun intended), as january saw an increase in the number of pet adoptions, which has been the best month for awhile, but the ratio between those coming in and those going out with a loving family are still agreat distance apart.

There is a sense of satisfaction to doing something yourself rather than just hiring an “expert” to do it for you.

As a dog owner you may be curious about “DIY Dog Training” through a dog training guide like Sit Stay Fetch. Personally I think this is a fantastic alternative to paying for a expensive professional dog trainer, especially if don’t have plenty of cash to spare.

If I had to pick only one factor about SitStayFetch Dog Training that makes it such a good choice then I would say it’s that you may be learning the way to deal together with your dog yourself. This means that you may be gaining the skills you wish to deal not solely with any behavior problems your dog is showcasing now, but also any future behavior problems that your dog has (or that any dog you may have in the long run has.)

As the old saying goes “give a man a fish and he eats for one meal, teach a man the way to fish and he eats forever.” By learning how to train your dog through the information within the SitStayFetch dog training guide you may be essentially become a dog trainer. This can be a nice talent to own if you’re a true dog lover. You will not have to rely on anyone else to help you teach your “best friend” to behave itself.

But not everybody has the time or proclivity to train their dog. If you prefer to hire a professional then you should do so. Certainly true skilled dog trainers have a heap of experience that you almost certainly will not be able to attain by merely reading a guidebook.

It may be a significantly smart plan to hire a professional if you are dealing with a massive dog which has agression issues. Certainly if don’t feel comfortable as a “DIY Dog Trainer” than you mustn’t go that route.

If you live in Austin, Texas (or near there) then I will positively recommend these Austin, Texas Dog Pro Dog Trainers. Together with dog training, they also do dog walking and pet sitting.

I’m sorry that I don’t have any recommendations for elsewhere in the country (or or in the UK for that matter.)

African mammals from the horse family, zebras owe their world fame for the black and white stripes on their bodies that represent the very label of their individuality. From small groups to very large herds, zebras are part of the African landscape and no one likes to come to the black continent and not see these splendid animals. Click through here for more info relating to lion of judah tattoo .

Zebras are classified in three distinct categories: Grevy zebras, mountain zebras and plain zebras, each group with distinct features and behaviors. There are large parts of Kenya where Grevy’s or imperial zebras coexist with plain zebras for instance; these two subspecies are actually the ones to resemble horses most. Though limited to the African continent, zebras are adapted to a very wide range of habitats from savannas and grasslands to mountains, hills and woodlands.

Presently, the number of zebras roaming in the wild is definitely smaller than a century ago since hunting and the development of cities at the expense of the wild habitat triggered number fluctuations among zebras. You can find additional invaluable info relating to lion tattoo here.

The striped patters that zebras are famous for, represent an ID mark of each individual as the specimens recognize each other visually. Moreover, the stripes have a very important camouflage function against predators like lions. The stripes create the impression of waving grass particularly when the zebras are gathered in a herd under such circumstances the monochromatic vision of lions doesn’t allow them to hunt very well. Eyesight is a good point for zebras, not to mention that scientists believe that they have a visual acuity that makes them able to distinguish colors. Moreover, night vision is one other remarkable skill together with a great sense of hearing.

Danger can be more easily detected with the ability to move ears in all directions, and last but not least, unlike many other mammals the smell and taste are truly remarkable as well. As for food preferences, zebras are very adaptable grazers feeding on twigs, trees, leaves and bark. Another anatomical advantage is the capacity of the zebras to live on small amounts of nutrients, which means that any grass is good as long as it is not toxic. You can acquire tons of supplemental invaluable info on lion head tattoo here.

The mating habits of the zebras vary from one subspecies to another: some live in permanent groups of several mares and a stallion, while other only gather in herds temporarily for the mating season. The mating cycle takes place once a year for females and they usually give birth to one foal only.

All breed dog grooming is for professionals, that is a fact! A dog owner will usually learn how to groom his/her pet according to the breed specificity, but an expert needs training to handle all kinds of dogs of different breeds and sizes. You can learn all breed dog grooming by taking some classes or courses designed especially to meet the needs of those who want to make a living out of this profession. Over the years, plenty of schools have been founded and there is even the possibility to take a certification online, through long distance courses. If you choose this alternative make sure that the trainer has authorization for organizing classes. Click through here for more info about house training a dog

Once the all breed dog grooming training is complete you can move on to the next level: starting your own business. Local groomers provide most of the pet-related services in a certain neighborhood although vet centers, kennels and rescue centers have their hands full with similar work. A first difficulty with all breed dog grooming is equipment, because you’ll have to buy a fully equipped grooming table that comes with all the accessories, since only such a tool is designed for the needs of dogs of all sizes.

All items of equipment have a certain role to play, and you don’t know when some will prove very useful. All breed dog grooming cannot be performed without a very large range of hair brushes, combs, grinders, clippers and the rest, so that you can handle any grooming task successfully. Experience and skill are the advantages that win customers’ trust and loyalty. Be prepared to groom different types of dogs, but hairy ones in particular. There is a simple explanation for this: a pet owner cannot groom a thick-haired dog at home because of the very the nature of the dog’s coat. You’ll have to do the job and for good money too! It is neither easy nor cheap, hence, everybody has something to gain. You can find complimentary worthwhile info about dog training books here.

Lots of books have been publish under the very same title of ‘All Breed Dog Grooming’; they are usually written by people who have experience in working with animals and who can share their tips and knowledge with others. Even so, keep in mind that an All-Breed-Dog-Grooming book will not qualify you for doing the job and opening a business. You still have to go through the training steps necessary for authorization. There is no business without authorization, and that should be your main concern! You can obtain oodles of supplemental worthwhile info on dog training collars here.

The strange thing is that many of these people are dressing the animals up for no good reason at all so it all sounds a bit pointless. It would seem that this has become a fashion within many dogs. Paris Hilton has to be the most famous celebrity that does this as you rarely see her dog Tinkerbell in the same outfit twice. How far can you go without you actually treating the animal in a cruel way?

The opinon that I have on this is that if you are going to dress a dog up then you are wasting your time because the dog could be injured in the process. The only dogs that are actually able to be dressed up are the smaller ones that look a bit like rats on stilts than anything else. So why are people so obsessed with dressing their pets up?

There are times where people do it for competitions. Believe it or not there are actually a lot of fashion shows for the dogs and their clothes, its pretty sad really.

Dressing up the dog in the winter is okay because sometimes the smaller dogs need a coat to keep them warm or else they will catch a bit of a cold. The problem is that without the help of a human, these dogs would be totally useless so is it really a good idea that we dress them up.

There is an argument by the RSPCA that going to far is actually cruelty to the animal. This is certainly understandable as boots for a dog could not only make it look stupid but cause its legs some serious damage. Before you know it the pet could have to have one of those vet referrals for something like animal dermatology or even animal ophthalmology.

One of the best things you can do here is to just sit down and have a think, does the dog actually need to be wearing any of this. A coat can be very useful in the winter, do not go too far and start adding hats and shoes or anything like that.

The worst thng you could do if a pet goes missing is panic, so just calm down first. You will not be able to think straight if you are in a bit of a panic which means in the end you will not be able to find your animal because you just will not be able to concentrate.

Never give up; the pet could literally turn up miles from home as I found out from personal experience:

The dog that we had gotten from the RSPCA has just started to get used to our family, we usually buy our dogs but thought we would give a resuced one a chance. It seemed that the normal morning walk had taken a bit longer that normal so we were getting a bit worried until of course Dad walked in without the dog which was even more worrying.

What had happened is that he took a different route to normal and went down a main road, when a car went speeding by the dog had panicked and had pulled hard and escaped with the lead still attached to it.

So the search had begun with us frantically approaching printing management companies to help us look for the dog by flyer printing Brighton.

It ahad been quite a long time with a lot of stress involved which is when we got a call from someone saying she had the dog trapped in a field . Mum and another friend from work went off in the car to see if there was even a small chance it could be her. The thing is we thought this was impossible as the location was over ten miles from where she went missing. In the end it actually turned out that the dog had gone across fields, motorways and other roads to get to where she was now stuck. I really do not know how she managed to get so far without injuring herself at all.

So the real lesson to learn from this is, do not give up there is always a chance it will work out. There is of course the option of fitting a tracking chip inside the animal in the similar way that many businesses do with corporate identity design.

There is a regular problem that always occurs when talking about Africa. Africa does seem to have the most astonishing animal life forms as we acknowledge them today. But people always state that Africa was home to some of the most popular dinosaurs as we currently know them. Although Africa had a wide range of dinosaurs both in the Triassic and Jurassic periods, the more well known ones were in fact not originating from Africa. So let us take a look at which dinosaurs can be mistaken as being from Africa.

T-Rex

T T Rex really in the daddy of all dinosaurs. To this current day The T Rex is still the most accepted dinosaur in the globe. The T Rex was around the cretaceous period and in what we now know as Western North America. The most dangerous dinosaur of them all was not in the African continent.

Allosaurus

The Allosaurus was like the T Rex and was a fierce dinosaur in the Jurassic period. Again these dinosaurs were actually from North America, but did finally move over to Portugal and Tanzania.

Velociraptor

The Velociraptor was again a ferocious dinosaur, but not as full-grown as the above two. The Velociraptor was in the Cretaceous period and was originally thought to be from Asia. The Velociraptor is famous for its place in the Jurassic Park films, but it is said that the Jurassic Park films were quite inaccurate as a true Velociraptor was much smaller and had wings to its name. The actions of the Velociraptor were though spot on showing how fierce such a small creature can be.

For great safari holidays, Kenya Safari and South Africa safari

Safaris are becoming more popular, as the human race gets more in touch with their natural side. People are absolutely fascinated by animals and their movements, but for a lot of people going on Safari is something that they just cannot afford in this current economical climate. So the next best matter would genuinely have to be the local zoo. But what type of Safari animals can you expect to see in the local animal zoo? Let us take a closer look.

Black Rhinos

Black Rhinos are very rare to find outside of Africa, but there are a couple of places that they can be seen in the UK. You should bring your camera with you because it really is a once in a life time opportunity.

Tigers

You do not want to get too close to the African tigers, but once again they can be a really beautiful animal to follow and take pictures of. Tigers which have been brought over to UK zoos are much more common then the black Rhinos, you can probably see them numerous times in your trip.

Gorillias

Gorilla’s are some of the most amazing and intelligent of all the animals, simply because of the fact that they are so similar to human beings. They are always amazing to watch.

Giraffes and Elephants

African Giraffes and Elephants are again a common sight in UK zoos; they are a very common animal to come across and can live in various different conditions and locations throughout the entire world. Once more another huge but gentle and loving animal which can be admired for hours upon hours.

Safaris are a cracking way to explore a animals natural home ground and although a zoo gives you a glimpse of these animals it is genuinely not the same.

For great safari holidays, Zanzibar safari and South Africa safari

When the thought or the discussion of getting a new puppy or dog arises another thought comes to mind and that is how to house train it. House training is not all that hard but you will need to have a lot of time and much patience.Click through here for more information on dog obedience school.

When you are setting out to house train your new dog it is best to house train it at a very young age. You can teach old dogs new tricks but they do not catch on so quickly however. When house training you need to cater to your dog. The very first thing that you need to teach your dog is how to go outside to use the bathroom. It is best to stay on teaching your new dog house training before you teach it anything else.

Remember taht you will nat have results overnight. It may take several days and in many case many weeks to house train your dog. There are many dogs that are stubborn and try to be in control but you need to break your dog of this and be the master.Click through here for more information on dog obedience school.

Everyone that is around the dog everyday needs to be aware of what you are expecting of the dog. If you are trying to break the dog of a certain habit and another person in the house is allowing it then it can make the dog a confused creature. You will not see the results of any new lesson right away.

You need to have patience and be very consistent. Your effort will pay off and you will end up with a dog that know where to use the bathroom and your dog will also know who is the boss. This is what we all want to achieve in the long run isnt it – a well trained (house trained) dog we would be proud to show off to anyone – and a carpet that no longer smells? You can obtain more information on dog obedience school here.
